Denmark School

The Denmark school of the Internal Intent is comprised of a group of dedicated students that began in 2001. Jim Underwood has been leading the Denmark “gongers” since 2011 when he moved to Denmark. Jim has been fully committed to these arts since his first class in 1999, and has been teaching as a senior student since 2005. In Denmark, we seek to fully utilise the natural powers of our environment to enhance and inform our practice, with regular sessions at the beach, in the forest and on the river.

"Thinking and talking about the Integral Way
are not the same as practising it.
Whoever became a good rider by talking about horses?
If you wish to embody the Tao, stop chattering and start practising.
Relax your body and quiet your senses.
Return your mind to its original clarity.
Forget about being separated from others and the Divine Source."

"Lao Tsu"

Winnie the Pooh says (our very own western Taoist) when reflecting on creating poetry:

“But it isn’t easy,” said Pooh. “Because Poetry and Hums aren’t things which you get, they’re things which get you. And all you can do is to go where they can find you.”

At the school of Internal Intent, we use a method that works on establishing sound structural (physical) and functional (energetic) health. This method has its roots in the old shaman times of the first millennium BCE, China, and was then later refined by Taoist concepts and medicine. We seek to hold these original roots, utilising the body’s innate wisdom as the key to access alignment and aliveness in our modern times.
